Visual tutorial, how to measure your custom trousers?
All you need is a tailor's tape.
Welcome to our visual guide on how to measure bespoke trousers. Dressing well is an art that begins with the precision of the tape measure: that is why we at Guarino & Salzano have created this step-by-step tutorial. Whether you prefer a vintage or modern cut, measuring your favourite trousers correctly will allow us to recreate the fit you love, adding the unique touch of our handmade craftsmanship. Follow these instructions to provide us with the exact measurements for your next pair of tailored trousers.
Waist
Take the internal measurement from side to side
Hip
Measure the hips at the widest point. If the trousers have pleats, keep them closed to ensure an accurate measurement.
Thigh
Place the tape measure just below the crotch seam.
Outer length
Lay the trousers flat as shown in the photo.
Measure the total length (including the waistband) by placing the tape measure along the front of the trousers.
Inner lenght
Lift one leg of the trousers and measure from the crotch seam (where all the seams meet) down to the hem.
Knee
After measuring the inside leg, divide the figure in half: place the tape measure at that height to measure the width of the knee.
Bottom
Measure the width of the trouser hem as shown in the photo.
